Why Trump?
1. Illegal immigration is the only issue; if it's not stopped soon, America will become like California -- a demographic one-party state.
2. Politics is about name-recognition and none of the other candidates besides Trump has the name recognition to challenge Jeb Bush or Hillary Clinton.
Therefore, Trump is the only candidate with a chance to win who has promised to do the only thing that matters.
Yeah, and he won...TWICE!
I sure hope your candidate does't revert to his political leaning that he had 10 years ago. Heck he supported Hilary. Who knows..... he might make her SOS again, all we know. This guy is the proverbial political Trojan Horse. Very disappointed many here at FR do not realize that.
Based on your comments there, I guess it is a good thing Abe Lincoln didn't run in 2016
So, you're part of Cruz's inner circle? You must be to know that. I'm impressed.
Unlike all other candidates, Trump was not an office holder but a businessman and his job was to maximize profits of his companies and wealth of his family, not well being and wealth of general population (at any level). He never promised (or had to promise) to maximize wealth of you or your neighbors and friends. This is quite different than politicians (including all other candidates) who routinely fail to deliver on such promises to voters.
That's a distinction that Trump critics here routinely overlook. Since he did exceptionally well at his earlier job, one can infer he will do as well on the new job he is seeking now.
Last I looked,Ted Cruz' wife knew how to keep her clothes on. Trumps's wife????...Not so much
The only thing odumbo has ever done is to have run the U.S...........INTO THE GROUND!. Now, we need a president who can get this once magnificent ship back afloat. It will be monumental task for whomever gets elected. Although not "presidential", I see Trump as someone who could accomplish that task.
Just saw Cruz last in night at a small gathering in Hollis NH (about 200 people). He gave a stump speech and answered questions. When you get to see a little more of him, I believe you’ll change your mind about him. He was articulate, animated, upbeat, and displayed a good sense of humor. He has charisma.
I’m glad Trump is in the race, but I believe Cruz is our best hope for getting our country turned around.
Does this look like the next president of the United States to you?

No way! ....I liked his fights against the unions, but he’s not a contender for Prez.
While I don’t think Ben Carson is ready for the big desk I do think a Cruz/Carson ticket might be a good one. Its not getting much attention but Carson is quickly closing in on Trump in Iowa.
I think Cruz would probably be on top if not for the divided loyalties with Trump.
Trump gets my vote, my money,my support. ON THE GOP TICKET OR OFF IT.
Well, I’ve learned a lot on this thread.
I now know that physical height, high golf scores, and neatly pressed suits are essential qualifications for the presidency.
I now know that I need to consider the candidates’ foreheads before deciding who to vote for.
I now know that Kim Kardashian is better looking and has better hair than Trump.
I now know that a hot-looking wife is an essential qualification.
And I now know that a goofy-looking candid photograph is a better predictor of success than experience.
Trump will get many votes for being on that show. It may be sad but celebrity is in in politics.
looks like a doofus
Thanks. With 173 posts, I don’t have time to study the whole thread. Now if you could just tell me who to vote for, I could put this down and get busy with my household chores.
Presidential?
Sarah Palin and Ted Cruz are both Trump fans.
It certainly seems like Trump & Cruz have partnered up.
With something "BIG" planned together.
So, with Palin & Cruz squarely in Trump's corner, why all the push back?
A Response to Free Republic Trump 'Worshiper' Critics
The picture is typical of the MSM attacking Trump. Google the images for Trump and you will see a number of MSM sources with Trump making a contorted expression. Obviously we can and should strive for a better level. OTOH, it doesn't hurt to mix it up a little. But do the same image search for Bush and they are all tasteful. Such the methodology of the MSM.
As for Trump the candidate, it is early and needs to keep steamrolling the Dems and RINOs which will pave the way for an antiestablishment candidate like Cruz. Otherwise I would be very happy with Walker being the last man standing. Walker may be a little nerdy but he has stood up to the big government types who are ruining our country. But with some input from posters here using the same tactics as the MSM, Walker cannot beat Bush.
