Former Gov. Jeb Bush (R-Fla.) said on Sunday that GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump is mistaken for blaming the immigration crisis on Mexico.
Bush added that most of the nations influx of illegal immigrants is actually coming from Central America instead.
Right now the number of Mexicans crossing the border is basically flat, he told host John Catsimatidis on The Cats Roundtable on AM 970 in New York. The immigrants that are crossing legally or illegally in both cases are from Central America now, he said. It changes.
What shouldnt change is our commitment to respecting the rule of law and our commitment to support the security of our borders, added Bush, another Republican White House hopeful in 2016.
Bush argued on Sunday that Trumps immigration platform would be too costly and impractical.
What Donald Trump is proposing is a wall that cant be built, and if it was, it would cost hundreds of billions of dollars, he said, citing Trumps call for a wall on Americas border with Mexico.
He wants everyone deported, which would tear family lives asunder, Bush said. It would probably be unconstitutional.
Its not conservative and its not realistic and it does not embrace American values,

Poor JEB, so much to say and so little of it meaningful.
If they know how many are coming across, and what country they're from, you'd think they'd simply stop them, right? lol...
He is going to build a big, beautiful door in the wall.
Well Jeb, they are coming thru the Mexican border. Are you saying, Jeb, that what Trump is saying about the rapists coming over is true, but they are central Americans? Did you hear that, Hondurans?
Actually I don’t care where they’re from. Do it legally or don’t come. That’s what he doesn’t get. We don’t care if they’re Mexicans or Central Americans or whatever. Send them home. He seems to think we’re just against Mexicans. Idiot.
Probably untrue, but irrelevant in any case. Illegals are still streaming across the southern border from many different nations. Has Jebbie missed all the news stories about unaccompanied minors and women with children coming across in record numbers for past year or more, at Obama's invitation?
Substitute “central Americans” with “middle easterners” and what do you have? An even bigger problem! Doesn’t matter who is coming through, the point is they are undocumented and illegal. They are a drain on our economy at best and potential terrorists at worst. This is just Jeb’s way of calling Trump a racist.
And they are being allowed to come overland through Mexico. More than being allowed... actually facilitated by the Mexican government.
I’m not a Jeb supporter, so I’m not sure why I’m giving him this advice.... But, jeeeez Jeb....always being on the defense is not a winning strategy. All Jebby have been doing for the past 2 months is defending himself against Trump’s attacks. This seems to be the typical GOPe strategy.
No wonder Trump is kicking butt.
ROFL ROFL
Jeb, Hillary, or Sanders is the kill shot to our country. Trump is the only chance we got. No one else has the guts or charisma to pull it off.
Who cares where they come from their illegal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Humpty Jebby won’t build the wall, Humpty Jebby will have a.bad Fall— all the RNC’s Rinos and all the RNC’s donors cannot put Yebby together again.
Mother knows best Jeb... No more Bushes.
ummm...I agree. lol
You see, they're not all Mexicans, so we don't need a wall.
Just like, anchor babies are mostly Asian, so they're not a problem.
Wait, what?
You don't have to tear families apart, Jebbie. The children, who aren't really citizens anyway can go home with their parents.
“The rate is flat if it is maxed out.”
Very perceptive. I suspect you are right.
“Flat” isn’t the same as “zero”.
Yes, it was.
I remember a radio interview with the head of Homeland Security at the time. They asked him, what about the wall? He claimed they had built a large part of it... but when pinned down it turned out he had built something like 35 miles.
They asked, why not more? He said, because there is no money. They asked, but wasn't something like 700 million appropriated for the fence as part of the law requiring the fence? Yes, he said, the money was in the bill, but the wording of the bill didn't require that the money be spent on the fence. I kid you not. Thats when I realized, under Bush the fence will never be built no matter what.
See, its a constant flow. No need for a wall.
