Idiot. You don’t need to build in the rugged parts. That’s where the drones and volunteer minutemen with AR-15s gp. Silly Jeb.
Right. If there are areas so rugged that construction of a wall would be “too costly”(?), clear ‘em if needed for unobstructed line of sight, and post Border Patrol agents as needed.
Let’s say it costs $250k per year to put an agent in the field, and equip. / arm him / her adequately. If we post agents every 2000 ft. apart along the ENTIRE length of the border, the cost is under $1.5 billion per year. Operation of armed drones is a bit pricey, but they can cover a lot of ground...
(Hey Jeb, is the math too hard for you? See this? It’s called a calculator.)
It should also be pointed out, though I’m sure that many Freepers are well aware of it, that surveillance and target recognition technology these days is VERY good. Some of it can even be done from space, of course: I remember some years back how startled I was when I realized I could make out my freaking (terrestrial reception) outdoor TV antenna on Google’s and Bing’s views from space. Obviously, our gov’t has capability at least 10x better. (I’m sure some Freeper can enlighten us.)
Meanwhile, the GOPe and MSM can’t figure out why Bush languishes in the polls, or think we are all racists...
