Influential constituents in both political parties have been pushing their politicians to do that for at least 12 years or so.

Perhaps we can agree to resume our underground nuclear tests in the Iran locations of our own chosing.
To: AdmSmith; AnonymousConservative; Berosus; bigheadfred; Bockscar; cardinal4; ColdOne; ...
Doing this will also force President Barack Obama and his administration to deal with a nuclear Iran now instead of kicking the can down the road for someone else.
His way of "dealing with" this would be surrender.
