Situational awareness is the order of the day.
Exactly.
Getting to the point of not letting anyone near me within 10 feet if I’m gassing up in dangerous areas, or the like.
Just finished reading “Deerslayer”; it is time we go back to assuming there are wild savages about and you must always be alert. I’m always surprised when I see “polar bear hunting” attacks and similar scenarios unfold because in my area (heavily segregated northern NJ) there just aren’t that many opportunities for such attacks (despite our very dense population). Nobody (of any color) has any misconceptions about the state of race relations.
This may have been some kind of personal matter, but unfortunately it wouldn’t be surprising if it wasn’t.
Exactly. I’m actually about to leave now for Houston(about three hours away) to see my parents, who live not too far from that area. Yes, my antenna are always up, and I am very careful around there to be aware of my surroundings. Lots of people panhandling at intersections, selling papers in the medians of streets, etc.
