That’s a good point. How do we stop it? Exactly right...we ask for proof of US citizenship or long term residence in the state of at least one of the parents. Otherwise, issue a ‘statement of live birth’ and refer them to their national embassy.
Found this... interesting their take on the 14th ammendment (it is NPR). So in TX the State is asking the parents to show ID but they don’t care if that’s issued by a foreign country (at least they didn’t use to care).
