Walker has been good for Wisconsin. He is a fighter who speaks softly but carries a big stick, look at what he did to the unions in Wisconsin. What Walker lacks is the “fire in the stomach” persona that would get him in the top tier candidates for POTUS. I do see him as one who could be a VP candidate but unlikely we will see him as “the one”.
Part of that is being "midwestern nice" and not painting a target on his back, along with not signaling to the opposition to coalesce and set up their defenses and offensives.
As I said yesterday, seeing the Left foam at the mouth and lay siege to the state capital for months, that kind of theater excites our side too, and it is more sustainable and infectious than throwing red meat (which I think Walker does too - it's just not his calling card).
I am visiting Wisconsin this week for an event near Sheboygan. Although earlier this summer I traveled through the state via Madison on the way to Minnesota, the roads there were not nearly as bad as I had expected. That all changed when I got on I-43 out of Milwaukee. Not too bad at first but then all of a sudden, I thought I had a flat tire on the trailer. I finally got to pull off about a mile later and all the tires were fine.
So this goes to my outsider view. I filled up leaving Florida at 2.31/gal for diesel. Filled up at a cut rate station in Sheboygan at 2.59/gal. A question to those who pay taxes in this state is do you know where your gas taxes are going?
He’s like Pawlenty but with a brighter personality.
