My friend, Al Copley, was a very accomplished pianist. He was schooled in the classics but his love was Blues and jazz. As for me, I was not a schooled musician. I was a self taught Hammond B-3 player. My hero was Jimmy Smith who I met when I was 14 at the Newport Jazz festival. I copied his style which was good for both the blues and jazz.
