“The problem is that Trump supporters know what all the other candidates stand for.”

I don’t think that’s entirely true.

I think there’s an element of voters (and FR members) who love nothing more than to hear a candidate huff, puff and wave his arms around. They think it’s funny to hear Trumpet call other people names. The louder and more outrageous, the better is how a large number of Trumpet supporters feel.

I’ve seen nothing of substance come from Trumpet in regards to policy matters - just loud undefendable gusts of hot air.

And what have you heard from most of the other candidates?
Open borders.
One way free trade.
It takes a village (Kasich).

Cruz is really the only other choice.
Unfortunately, Jebby has already been chosen by the elites.
8 more years of Turkey Neck Mitch and Johnny Walter Boner.

Every articulated policy position produces people who will benefit, and people who will lose from that policy position. The latter group is likely to be stronger in its opposition, than the former will be in support.

Trump has decided on one policy area, illegal immigration, and defined a position that he thinks will get a lot of people in support, and relatively few people in opposition, and those people were unlikely to vote Republican anyway.

I think he's going to stick with that, and push the fact that he's not in the pockets of the Establishment.
