CENTENNIAL, Colo. (AP) — The man who unleashed a murderous attack on a packed Colorado movie theater was ordered Wednesday to serve life in prison without parole plus 3,318 years — the maximum allowed by law — before the judge told deputies, "Get the defendant out of my courtroom, please."
The gallery applauded the remark by Judge Carlos A. Samour Jr. as he gaveled the hearing to a close, ending a grueling three-year wait to see the gunman brought to justice. Survivors, relatives and a handful of jurors who were in the courtroom cheered and then hugged prosecutors and law enforcement officers. Some wiped away tears.

Mass murderer gets Life?
What’s wrong with that statement?
It’s founded in reality.. or is it?
What has happened to so cheapen life in this nation?
If he doesn’t get the death penalty, then the last guy to get it deserves an apology.
If there were any children among his victims, the other cons won’t let him serve out those 3,318 years.
He should have been immediately led away to a place of execution.
Inmates will see to it.

From what I have read, the jury was ready to recommend the death penalty however under Colorado law, the recommendation must be unanimous, and there was ONE effin’ bleeding heart hold out who bought into the whole ‘Holmes had mental problems’ crapola, and wouldn’t agree to the death penalty.
Therefore, “life” is the default. Ironic it is.
This was a travesty of justice. That's how far we've fallen.
I’m still glad he got life + 3,381 years. Too bad he won’t live to serve it all.
Let’s say such a sentence lasts 50 years (roughtly Holmes’ remaining life expectancy) + 3,381 years. By the time he gets out, the rest of the human race could be extinct.
Can’t we chop him up into pieces and sell him to some scientific supply houses?

Death Row means he’ll be protected for life. Life w/o parole means General Population. Hopefully he will die in a shower soon.
