6 months ago, it was between the party-anointed Bush-Clinton clownshow; now with Trump into the mix, I didn’t even see that coming. (I’ve been away from it all for several months.) Trump reminds me of a late-50s/early-60s Democrat, who put America first.
I’ve already heard more than I want to about Vester Flannigan. As for the reason behind his murders, I agree with the conservative commentator (can’t remember who) who said yesterday that it’s neither guns nor mental illness that causes the high level of violence in our country, but rather the severe degradation of the value we place on life.
I realize mental illness can result in violence, but it’s my perception that it’s responsible for only a small number of murders. It’s the decrease of religious life and the support for abortion that are the main causes of violence and murder—life is no longer valued by too many people.
