At least three people have reportedly committed suicide now after being outed as cheaters from the Ashley Madison extramarital affair website hack and subsequent leak of some 37 million email addresses worldwide.
Michael Gorhum, a police captain from San Antonio, Texas who oversaw the San Antonio Regional Intelligence Center Unit better known as the Southwest Texas Fusion Center, shot himself to death on Thursday.
Gorhum was apparently easily outed because he used his work email which was easily recognizable. Another San Antonio detective was also on the site. As Photography Is Not a Crime pointed out, We can expect many more government officials to be exposed who did not have the foresight to use an anonymous email.
Two more people in Canada have also committed suicide because of the hack, but Toronto police have not released any further details according to BBC.
The websites slogan is, lovingly, Life is short. Have an affair. They forgot, that everyone will find out about on that second sentence.
CNN is reporting that the hack is ripping marriages apart although, wouldnt it ultimately be the CHEATING thats doing that?
Not that suicide is the answer, but its kinda hard to keep reading these whiny media stories sympathizing with cheaters about how sad it is for them they might lose their job because they signed a morality clause or that some guys wife is leaving him and taking half because she can prove he was cheating on her left and right. Didnt your parents teach you how to take some responsibility for your own behavior? Its not the hackers fault you cheated in the first place.
Again, suicide is not the answer, but the fact that 37 million people
thats million
got outed in this cheating hack is a pretty sad statement about society in general.
Such fools, first for signing-up for such an obvious trap and second for killing themselves for the 'shame'. They couldn't have been so happily married anyway but I suppose at least now they don't have to pay the divorce lawyers and alimony.
Wonder what Biden's son will do about his episode with Ashley Madison?
Old Joe probably sent his $200 in and is awaiting his info bout his anticipated affair. Joe would be lucky if he didn't draw la Hillary who was thinking Joe was short for Josephine.
Your sins will be revealed...
There’s 37 million stupid people out there. I won’t miss a single one of them. They’re probably mostly Democrats.
What is funny is that there are other articles that most of the men who signed up on Ashley Madison never had an affair.
The website was so tilted toward men, that few found the trysts they were looking for.
But, if you registered, you are guilty!
It is like the old Catholic mantra that just thinking about committing the sin is already a sin.
The question that I haven’t seen addressed is when they find the hackers, will they be charged with any crime because of these deaths?
Only one life
Twill soon be past
Only what’s done for Christ
will last
There are many things in life that temp us to selfishly find our “heaven” here and now. The “world system” tries to squeeze us into it’s unrighteous mold. Unfortunately, most of us come nowhere close to honoring God with our lives or desiring a relationship with Him to face things that are extremely difficult in our pursuit of truly knowing Him. As a result, we never experience His power, grace and love, that He will grant to us, to overcome evil in our lives. Yes, it’s not easy. The self-life, with “me” in charge, will always be the most popular. “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” Proverbs 14:12
Once again the Bible is proved correct on how to live your life.
The internet can be used for either good or bad.
Make the choice to use the internet for the good.
Maybe the ones who killed themselves are the very few who actually arranged rendezvous with the handful of women on the site. Or maybe they’ve killed themselves because they arranged rendezvous with some of the millions of other men.
Zero sympathy. But I do have sympathy for the unfortunate spouses who didn’t know.
This, yes.
I admit I looked up my ex wife, was pleasantly reassured she didn’t show up.
And let’s not forget the hackers did this to blackmail the Ashley Madison people, so that’s a crime right there. They didn’t do it as some kind of morality crusade. Whether they can be held responsible for anyone’s death, that might be a bit of a stretch legally. But morally I think they are responsible for these deaths and whatever other mayhem ensues and I wonder if that thought ever crossed their minds.
I’m not saying it’s a great thing to cheat on your wife or husband, but being reckless with people’s lives isn’t a great thing either.
Well, that validates the first half of AM’s slogan: “Life is short..”
“CNN is reporting that the hack is ripping marriages apart although, wouldnt it ultimately be the CHEATING thats doing that?”
If one or both are cheating, the marriage is already ripped apart. Ashley Madison is a symptom, not the disease.
My getting arrested for robbing banks is taking away from my free time...?
I didn’t see any mention of having to stand before God and giving account for infidelity as part of the news story.
This is sad. As I have written before, there is nothing to celebrate here.
Prayers up for the Gorhum family.
In the case of lust, the Bible does draw an equivalence between looking at a woman lustfully and actually doing the deed with her.
Who can say they’ve never done that (looked)? I imagine that’s a pretty short list.
There but for the grace of God go I.
You and I are saying the same thing.
Best part is, they blame the hackers for their own inability to keep their clothes on around strangers.
Morons for signing up and morons for committing suicide.
