It is likely that they found something, even it is just an abandoned train on a lost spur. That would be a heck of a lot more that Geraldo found...

“How do you find a missing train?
Follow the tracks.”
I once watched a great anime series in the vein of Yojimbo and the train that was robbed 40 years beforehand was deliberately sunk in a lake.

Again? I wish just one of these tales would turn out to be true. I liked the one about the trainload of WW2 German tanks that was supposedly discovered in a German forest in the 60’s.

Even if they’re just a T-34 with a sheet metal body.

How do you find a mythical train?

If Wagner Scares the dinks, does Oddball’s longer cannon barrel scare the Panzer Nazis in the sheet metal T-34?
Charlie don’t surf, Achmed don’t dance, and daddy’s got a brand new bag of rock and roll.

If I remember right, a roughly 14” cube of gold weighs 2000 lbs.
To: Secret Agent Man
Three vehicles, each with 300 lbs of gold, would take about 200 trips. 3 months and that train is empty.

Probably not. However, their faces are probably melting now.
To: Calvin Locke
About 1900 lbs, actually. A 6” cube weighs about 150 lbs.

If it 300 tons of gold were a big cube, it would a 11.6 metres on each side.
