Straw Man argument.

Ronald Reagan had years as governor to prove his conservative bonafides. He had from 1975 to 1980 to continue showing his conservative bonafides.

Did Reagan do a quick evolving?

Ronald Reagan left the democrat party in 1962. He was elected president for the first time in 1980.

Donald Trump left the democrats behind about a year ago. If he is sincere in his conversion then he should be ready to be president in about 2032.

yeah, Reagan was a conservative spokesman, statesman, speaker, and governor for several decades before running for President. Trump has been conservative on a few issues for several weeks. Right. Great analogy. Didn't do so well in logic, did you?
