He has surrounded himself with very competent people?

So they know how to negotiate?

Limbaugh agrees with Trump! Limbaugh thought the same of Obama and that's why Limbaugh wanted Obama to fail! /s.

Trump wanted Bush impeached? Hmmmmm.

Has he ever said he wanted the same for Obama?

Inquiring minds want to now... LOL.

Thanks for posting. While Trump himself is a bit refreshing since he is going after Fox and the GOPe ... so is a review of Trump’s past statements ... if that is allowed at Trump Republic. All these candidates should get the same scrutiny.

Championing Obama, wanting to impeach Bush.....

I'm glad he's making illegals and the havoc they wreak a central part of the campaign. I also enjoy him poking the GOP-e in the eye, but this guy is a loose cannon that will hurt him (and us) in the general.

On the wedding day, everyone compliments the bride’s beauty and her lovely white gown. She may be a skank-slut in real life, but not on that day; same with the honeymoon — all is well, compliments and well-wishes all around.
I think Trump was being polite, maybe even overly-polite.
That was mighty white of him.

I am interested in the date of this. A lot of people were hoodwinked in spring, early summer of 2009 and bought into the hype. If it was in November or December, by then it was clear what we were dealing with. Of course most of us knew in 2007, but a lot of people are very gullible...even smart, successful ones.

6 years ago. Ancient history ;-)

As time goes by people will start having second thoughts about The Donald. We don't need a strongman. We need a constitutional conservative.

If for no other reason back Trump because he’s the ‘anti-consultant’ candidate...

‘Quoting from the past’ is a liberal trick... people change their minds with new information. Trump was a business man who invited Hilary to his wedding too... You want to bring that up?

Most people change their minds with new information - well, except brain dead liberals who haven’t had a new idea in 40 years... You know that - right Lasisse faire?

Why does being the ‘anti-consultant’ candidate matter?

Here’s why we’re getting “milksop, politically correct, scared of their own shadow, pushover, pathetic excuses for public servants” (C.Danials quote) in congress - - the type of men and women who would have a hard time selling shoes at JC Penney or Target...

Perverse incentives...

Political consultants are picking the people who will represent us - and they’re picking them based traits that benefit consultants - not traits that benefit the country.

Consultants are running a business...they want people easy to manipulate - - easy to make money off of...

How?

When a person wants to run for office they hire ‘help’ in the form of a consultant...

The consultant firm... someone like a Karl Rove or James Carville group - looks over the person and DECIDES if they will allow that person to hire them.

Why?

Because consultants MAKE THEIR MONEY as a percentage of ad buys.

If the man or woman in front of them doesn’t have the charisma to raise lots of cold hard cash to spend on TV ads, mailouts, newspaper buys etc... the consultant doesn’t make money. OR if the person is unwilling to spend the millions they raise the consultant doesn’t make money.

Consultants CHOOSE who he’s willing to ALLOW to hire him. What the consultant wants is a shallow narcissist gladhander ...

The consultant knows he can get a ham sandwich elected... IF he’s pliable... follows orders... so to speak. The type chosen (like many of our current congressmen) will be focus tested, trained to say the right buzz words, and use their natural ‘charm’ to do the rest.

What do ‘the American people’ get? We get empty suits who say PC words and phrases to get elected, then go to Washington - - learn how to buy expensive suits, find cool restaurants, learn ‘to apologize’ (an art form among the shallow) and then they DO NOTHING.

If we don’t switch incentives these are the types who will continue being elected - the “milksop, politically correct, scared of their own shadow, pushover, pathetic excuses for public servants”...

That’s it! I’m done with Trump! I read that a post on FR can’t change someone’s mind!

Keep hammering away Super D! I’m enjoying the show.

Trump's appearance on Larry King was from April 2009. 0bama had been President for what, 90 days? The honeymoon was still on. That was BEFORE 0bamacare, BEFORE Solyndra, BEFORE the GM bailout, BEFORE virtually every bad thing that 0bama has done.

So Trump had some initial goodwill for the nation's first black President? Big, fat, hairy deal.

Trump has been pretty unequivocal in recent years regarding 0bama's shortcomings. Some good wishes in 0bama's first 90 days is what Trump's critics are going to try to hang their hat on?

Try again...

We can vote for a GOPe candidate and be lied to again. Nothing will change and the Democrat will almost certainly be in the WH the next 8 years...OR we can support Trump and end the shite we have had to endure under the GOPe who never do anything they promise to get our support.

I don’t give a flying leap what Trump said 10 years ago, but I do care what he is saying today and has been saying for at least 7 years, some of it over 10 years.

Your TDS posts are not going to change my mind either.

This kind of stuff is why Trump worries me so much. He only “recently” became a conservative....how much of what he is saying does he actually mean, and how much of it is just to get him elected?

What is the point of all the opinion posts and articles slamming Trump? Those that say they will vote for the GOP candidate NO MATTER WHAT should be happy it is not “Paisley” or Jeb that is in the lead. Let the process play out, quit doing the job of the left media for them and simply discuss pro’s and con’s of each of the candidates. I swear that Republican voters are dumberer than a box of rocks. Is there not enough ammo against the entire D party, Bernie Sanders et al?

I no longer care. It really can’t get much worse in my opinion. I’m tired of being lied to by election year ‘conservatives’.

If Trump lies saying he’s one or is a Republican (we all know they never lie to their voters) how am I supposed to be ticked off? I’m used to it by now.

And what is really sad is that at least LibDems, that lie a lot, tell me the truth about how they want to grow and control all government and thus the people.
