I gave Obama like three days, maybe a week, thinking that surely this man knows how lucky he is, kinda like Jackie Robinson...then with each passing day...day after day it was something, and little by little the emperor had no clothes on.
I think Trump probably is giving the man more credit than what is deserved, but he could see through the man also.
The anti consultant candidate.....that he is, but he’s not the only one. There is at least one, maybe two others who don’t have Washington type consultants (which is what Trump means...he too has a campaign staff.)
You know, someone should write a book about the consultant class. Oh, wait....someone DID.
There are many other things Trump has contributed to that have nothing to do with politics. Such as the Marine he gave $25,000 when he got out of the Mexican jail. Or that widow in GA - he paid half of her mortgage so she didn’t lose her family farm. Or the couple who helped him when his limo broke down and he paid off their mortgage. Or the $10,000 he gave to Rand Paul’s charity. So, put that in your pipe and smoke it. He paid for an ice rink in NYC. He beautified the west side of NY too - and the list goes on and on.
We always think the best for the guy elected, even if we voted against the guy. With Obama, we knew the guy was a phony...but there was this 1 % factor that made me think let’s give the guy a chance.
Well, it’s a BS thread. The interview is about if he regretted supporting McCain - he said no. The Obama part is that O had won a great victory (getting elected POTUS is by definition a great victory). Trump is on with Larry King in April of 2009 - O had been POTUS for 60 days - the car bailout hadn’t even happened yet and he hadn’t revealed himself as a Stalinist yet. It’s a BS thread where the source material is nothing.
Thanks and glad you're out there lurking....as you know, I face some pretty ridiculous name calling and questioning of my motives - simply trying to point out that there is much for conservatives to worry about with Trump. People don't want to hear it. These are different days indeed.
Fair and balanced? There was a lot of bad that his money supported that he’s currently claiming he’s against now..
Also 50k to Rahm Emanuel should have cracked your skull.
Well I meant it...I truly respect and understand the reasonable Trump support - and I embrace the great things he’s done vis a vis the border and the GOP e especially.
But the fan boy/girl circus is just a bit much. You’re not part of that. But many on FR are. As another poster said, “Trump Republic” - where we used to believe in limited government, the Constitution, free markets. Those were the good ole days.
The only problem was when some on FR decided it was cool to beat up on Bush too
So what was it that Trump wanted to impeach him for? torture?
And gave the most coherent speeches on the virtues of limited government during all of that time too......this Reagan analogy is among the thinnest defenses yet.
He does have a hotel in Chicago. You don’t understand business I guess. Move on - I’m done with this debate since you seem to be unteachable.
Agreed. I don’t know if you check his cheerleaders’ start dates, but some are from 2015, and it makes me wonder if they are his campaign staff.
Let me guess you are an anchor baby lmao
Agreed. I loathe cults of personality, regardless of their political persuasion.
As I said to another poster, I never understood why so many people can (correctly) call McCain, Romney, and Jeb "RINOs" but then rush to the defense of George W., who was every bit as liberal as his brother, McCain, and Romney on most issues.
Seems to me that it takes a great deal of doublethink to attack Romney as "RINO scum" in one breath and then praise George W. Bush to the skies in the next.
Agreed. Cults of personality bring to mind Obama riding to the Presidency on "hope, change, yes-we-can."
There is a certain contingent here that seem to think that Trump is infallible, and who either ignore or attack with ad hominem each and every piece of information that suggests that he may not be all that he's cracked up to be as a conservative messiah.
Bottom line is that I'm glad Trump is in the race keeping the illegal immigration issue in the forefront, but I don't trust him and wouldn't vote for him in the primaries.
Having said that, the knee-jerk defenders of George W. Bush are no better than knee-jerk Trump defenders.
“Oh no Mr. Bill! I can’t vote for Mister Trump now”/s/
Why don’t you list the republicans he has supported?
No. The liberal media gave is Obama and Trumps money went into that election for the Democrats.
George Bush wasn’t running at that time, an ‘unknown’ Obama was and Rahm Emanuel is one of BO’s best pals. At that time ol’Trump was donating to current ‘heel’ poser Hillary.
I’d like to see the point where Trump, Clintons and the DNC actually broke it off?
Also, a guy who doesn’t pledge to not run third party if he’s not the GOP candidate insures a DNC victory.
Trump is the DNC Trump card. He’s either in it to drop out, or in it to eventually fail.
