It keeps the Fox News Bush chattering box chattering about Donald Trump instead. As long as their heads are exploding and their yaps are yapping about DT, then Bush gets no free airtime from his semi-concealed supporters in Fox’s chattering section.
As for FNC being ‘fair and balanced’? That was true once upon a time from about 1996 when they started as an outlet for anti-Clinton voices until about 2006 when they started to accentuate the sensational and barely scratched the surface on important issues before moving onto the next. They adopted the Clinton refrain that if it’s yesterday’s news, often literally yesterday, then likely it does not run today and certainly not tomorrow. In depth reporting became increasingly rare in favor of shallow faddish headlines. The cause is found in their writing staff who haven’t the time, budget, direction to keep digging for fresh nuggets of information on news that was abandoned because the news cycle demanded another round of sensational controversial issues. Ailes thought he could keep it going with personalities in place of real news. The personalities knew they had to throw red meat to both right and left, news was not so important.
Fox News is on the outs. CNN is congratulating them.
OAN is the news network emerging now that will supplant Fox, CNN and the alphabet outlets.
