That’s a good beginning. Now think it through. If Mississippi is 36th on a list of most dangerous states, with the 1st on the list being the most dangerous, how many states are more dangerous than Mississippi? (We’ll save the hard part for later.)

This is what the article stated:

putting it in the bottom half of states when it comes to safety...
So what is wrong with that statement? MS is in the bottom half. The article
didn’t quote the specific ranking just which half it was in......

Or the 36th LEAST dangerous state.
But the writer didn't, and thus the confusion.
