I’d be willing to bet on what they all have in common without bothering to do any research.

What a coincidence! It seems states/cities with large non-white populations have high crime rates. Crazy.

The magnolia state is ranked the 36th most dangerous state in the country, putting it in the bottom half of states when it comes to safety.

So we have what, 72 states now?

The rankings aren’t surprising. But because the article neither links back to the original source nor explains the methodology, it’s not entirely persuasive.

For example, no matter how bad things are in Indianola, maybe it’s not nearly so bad there as it is in Camden NJ or E. St. Louis IL.

Moreover, although Indianola and Jackson look a lot worse on this list than do Moss Point and McComb, what are the percentage differences? And are they statistically significant?

Last but not least, if the article had been well done, I think it would have told us which cities and counties in MS have the SAFEST environments? Maybe that’s where I wanna be!

My sister lives in MS. The cities are like anywhere else. The countryside and the beaches are beautiful. I am jealous of her.

It didn’t seem very “dangerous” at all.

First the Onlyinyourstate.com website is a junk website like Zero Hedge or other like it.

But, this tells me the info is really junk.

“A crime is a crime, so we took both violent and property crimes into account when compiling our list of Mississippi’s most dangerous cities.” “

These towns could have a higher volume of preoperty crimes that skew the data and likely are small places where a couple of crimes would greatly skew the data.

Based on this standard, St. David Maine would probably be one of Maine’s most dangerous places based on this one crime.

“ST. DAVID, Maine — Two men were charged Wednesday in the theft and sale of about $45,000 worth of potatoes to businesses and residents in the St. John Valley for the last 4 ½ years, state police said.”

Population: 804.

If you find yourself in Jackson, Mississippi on a Saturday night, you might want to avoid that redneck joint called the Dew Drop Inn.
