And I would say to that candidate, “I hear what you are saying. The country’s not on the verge of decline, though, but in actual decline, in decadence. And we’ve seen for the last several elections that what-we’re-going-to-do is just so many words to get elected. You and your handlers have had your chance. Now get out of the way.”

Why on earth would he tell a candidate to say “your country”, just for starters. He isn’t much of a consultant.
