"participation in street economies"

Now there's a new one,"street economies". A more genteel term than "vice". Like "sex worker" is more genteel than "whore" or "choice" for "infanticide". Of course calling the whole sorry business a "street economy" opens it up for tax or funding possibilities.

"Street economies" -- what is this, pushcart tacos? Sheesh. For every kind of filthy exploitation there's a tart-on-the-tongue euphemism, that's for sure.

Then there's this: "We do not believe that anyone should enter sex work against their will and should never be forced or coerced into being a sex worker..." and blah-blah-blah. Right after they said it was a survival strategy for runaway gay youth. "Youth." As in minors. Boys. So getting anally raped by perverts for money and exposed to HIV while you're at it, because otherwise you'd starve, has nothing to do with "force" and "coercion"?

Some people need to be put on an island far, far away. And I don't mean "les miserables" at the bottom, the gay boys. I mean the filthy perverts at the top, like Amnesty International.
