Tens of thousands of people turned out in Mobile, Ala. on Friday night for a pep rally for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
The event had been planned to be held at the nearby Civic Center venue in Mobile -- seating capacity 1,950 -- but was moved to the 43,000-seat Ladd-Peebles Stadium to accommodate what Trump campaign organizers anticipated to be a very large crowd.
Just how large is still somewhat unclear. The official crowd estimate released by the city of Mobile on Friday night was 30,000.

Didn’t CNN report it as “dozens”?
After the speech, John Roberts told Lou Dobbs that he did a quick count of one section and from that deduced that there were 8-10,000.
I couldn’t believe it.
Pretty sure Trump understands the importance of metrics. At this point attendance is the top metric. The MSM will regret it if they try and screw with the head count.
People are on vacation and I’ve never seen anything like it.
Usually at this time of the year, no one is paying serious attention to politics.
And this has the media and the pundits stumped.
That number will be in the millions and all the TV coverage is free advertising for Trump.
georgewill and sourkraut call him a side show or a clown, while Trump is lapping the field and laughing at them.
Also many standing on the football field.
If this hasn’t been the largest turn out yet at a political event so far it sure as hell comes damn close.
They reported the million man march achieved its attendance goal when it didn’t even fill the mall, a few weeks later the TEA party rally overflowed the mall, jam-packed solid, and spilled out into the surrounding streets and was reported as “hundreds”.
Guess why I don’t watch CNN...

Not according to Rachel Maddow. She was reporting that only 20,000 people attended and said Bernie had 28,000, making him the winner.
She is such a liar.
Obviously, we all know the media and left wing politicians can’t count. That’s why we are in the economic fix we are.
It is said that the democrat Bernie Sanders drew some
28,000 in Portland, OR on Sunday, Aug. 9, 2015.
Why don’t they put counters at the gates? Sigh.
And count streaming? I streamed on Fox10 and the announcers thanked viewers many times. 9,500 streaming, 1 even tweeted from the Netherlands. Probably record viewership for them.
The more trump haters out there, the more I like him. I would like to have a president that was not produced by NBC or Fox. Trump is nowhere near perfect. But he is breaking down the two party, two propaganda media network system. And that is a huge accomplishment all by itself.
Lou Dobbs is loving EVERY damn minute of this.
