MOBILE, Ala. — It was immigration, not segregation, that brought some 20,000 southerners — far fewer than predicted — out for Donald Trump on Friday night, but the ghost of George Wallace loomed large.
Wallace, an avowed segregationist, was the last presidential candidate to win electoral votes as a third-party candidate. The threat of Trump doing so, propelled by a hardline immigration stance that many have condemned as racist, looms over the Republican Party now as it did over the Democratic Party then, even as the enthusiasm of his following, for once, fell far short of expectations.
Wallace carried five Southern states, and Trump, who is leading early national polls in the race for the Republican nomination, touted his leads in Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida and Texas.
Trump also panned birthright citizenship as a bad deal for the U.S., saying, “We’re the only place just about that’s stupid enough to do it.” Trump’s recently released immigration plan calls for ending birthright citizenship for the children of undocumented immigrants, which is guaranteed by the 14th Amendment, according to the legal consensus, though Trump disputes that point.
Trump invited Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions, one of Congress’s most ardent immigration hardliners who helped the businessman craft his immigration plan, to the podium, where the two embraced.
He also attacked his favorite punching bag, former Florida governor Jeb Bush, on the issue. “ Jeb Bush, ugh,” said Trump, pausing for dramatic effect, before calling the former governor “totally in favor of Common Core, weak on immigration.”
Praising a woman who had brought Trump’s book “Art of the Deal” to the rally, he said, “I’ve got to get her the hell out of here, she’s so beautiful.”

Television lighting is incredibly hot. The makeup also keeps the skin from breathing normally. Usually entertainers have makeup people ‘drying’ the face in between commercials. That plus a vest would make him look hot.
When she was on the Apprentice back in 04, I had no idea who MooseChelle Robinson Obama was, but there are a lot of similarities.
I was a junior in high school when Wallace was shot. It was a turning point. Nixon had been heavily discredited and the very viable democrat candidacy was the aim of Wallace. Bremer fit the cia type of assassin/fall guy. Either Nixon, or maybe Humphrey-McGovern, wanted Wallace out of the way. Being shot 5 times has to grab your attention, with one in the spine. Nixon later moved more to the right to absorb some of Wallace’s views on desegregation. We were riding busses all over town to go to school, it was crazy. This era marked the resurgence of the liberalism/progressivism that under kennedy/johnson, carter, and later clinton, and now obola, has led to the now-defacto-suspended US constitution and freedoms.

The Immigration issue is one of absolute serious debate. No country can have uncontrolled immigration and survive.
We have only to look at Europe with his and the movement of Muslims to Western Europe. They do not assimilate in the culture of the countries they are in and are destroying these countries.
Same with all those coming in from our southern border, we are being taken over and bankrupted in the same manner.
The Left doesn’t seem to care as all they see are potential new voters for Democrats but can’t see or don’t care about the long term destruction to our country and way of life.
The high yesterday in downtown Mobile was 91 degrees F. Trump’s appearance was scheduled for after 6pm local time, so maybe at the time it was a degree or two lower, but no more than that. Right now the temperature and the humidity are both in the eighties. This is weather that can fairly be described as “muggy” or “close.”

I can't tell where you're coming from exactly...parody...serious...or combination of both. I'm all for that above, but I'm far from comfortable that DT has the right prescriptions for obama care and to a some degree, for jobs. He's sounded right liberal on some of these issues very very recently.
