Well, there is this one other problem with Snowden. He basically emptied out the whole library of documentation. If he’d had ten accusations to make and copied forty documents to prove his accusations....we might approve of his tactics. But in this case....he copied literally millions of publications and says he’ll protect the vast number but just every four to six weeks....expose something that he thinks is of vital interest. This could all continue on....for years...for the vital interest concept of Snowden. At this point....it’s more of a comedy than an effort of an honest guy.
I suspect when January of 2017 arrives and if it’s Trump....there’s going to be this sixty-day count-down where Trump and Putin meet, and Putin will grin and say it’s time for Snowden to be handed over. Snowden will stand there in disbelief, and discover that he was simply a pawn of Putin in this game of ‘chess’ with Obama.
I think you put it better than anyone...
I would say your scenario is more correct than others. Snowden got caught up in a game much larger than he is.
In my mind he’s a traitor, not a whistle blower.
Trump will likely command a similar level of respect from foreign leaders (friend and foe alike) that Reagan enjoyed. This is a total 180 contrast to our current regime where our allies fear us more than our enemies.
Many think of Snowden as some sort of hero for ratting on the NSA. This was purposely and willfully done with intent to do harm. Now we have Hillary with her non-secure email with classified that was likely hacked by foreign powers. Both should be prosecuted.
If I was Snowden I would listen to your prediction and be planning hard,,,, now. I’d think of China, or wherever the Nazis went to hide.
And time to walk away from this whole mess. Grow a beard, lose the glasses, shave his head, and flip burgers in Argentina or something.
But he isn’t careful, this American government would lock him up for the rest of his life for revenge. He exposed their anti 4th amendment behavior.
