I thought Trump was funny. His stump speech was a bit of standup comedy, but not in a bad way.
Regardless, I haven’t seen anything like this in politics since I can remember.
40,000 turning out to hear a candidate 14+ months before an election?
And 40,000 Southerners to hear a New Yorker?
John Roberts on FNC said maybe 15,000 were there.
I sure have.... A certain Texas billionaire named Ross Perot had the same type of anti Washington msg. He ended up going 3rd party and handing us not one, but two terms of Clinton.
The Trump saga is kinda fun to watch in a macabre sort of way. The GOP has no one to blame but themselves for the rise of Trump. They precipitated the need for someone like him to come in and gain popular support. Hell, toenail fungus is polling higher than Congress these days and for damn good reason.
Trump's speech today was rambling and short on specifics on his big promises but it still resonates strongly with people who are sick and tired of the traitorous games being played on us by Washington.
I'm hoping Trump will soon be tossing out more conservative 'red meat' in the near future. At the moment I'm supporting Ted Cruz. It was interesting to me to see Jeff Sessions there supporting Trump. That is a huge plus for me as Jeff is one of the very few good guys left in Congress these days.
And 40,000 Southerners to hear a New Yorker?
Many of us at the rally mentioned that....We southerners like a few hells and damns in a speech...straight talk...We like Trump...and he liked us. Our old mayor of Mobile said “ There is only one Donald Trump”....he was here many years back on a reconstruction project of an old building...Trump backed out with good reason...We understood and respected him back then...it was the right move....Art of the Deal.
