My take on his lack of outreach to minorities is that right now, he is not fighting for their votes. Rather, he is building the vote base in which minorities are, well, minorities.
I believe that when/if his nomination is secure, he will start having those ‘across the table’ chats like he had with the audience tonight. But instead of explaining the need for better negotiating skills in our leaders, he will explain how he is going to open up jobs to those who want to work.
I really believe he will make it less ‘hip’ to be a taker.
That stadium is right in the middle of black urban blight....saw just a very, very few black people there...black folks live all around that stadium...they had an easy opportunity to walk in there and see what all the fuss was about...they don’t give a $hit...now if Trump had been giving away free crap...they would have been lined up...You can’t imagine the conversations i had and over heard before, during and after this event.....Wake up folks! Every person there said they were were tired of stinking, lying politicians...dem or rep...didn’t matter to them...people are sick of it.....Blacks are still wondering in the wilderness...Mobile is , i think, 51% black.
I eagerly await the Trump outreach to minorities. The all Anglo audiences all the time is too typical of all Republican candidates. He speaks as if he will break that mold. He had a chance tonight.
I would have missed this feature of his campaign if he had not brought it to our attention himself, by saying he would win the Hispanic vote. Those Hispanics who heard those words and liked his entire platform must still be waiting to be approached.
And, the black Trump Girls are wonderful, and they are getting a lot of press coverage for just two black women alone. That vote is out there and I don’t quite understand why there is any delay in asking for it now. I have to trust he knows what he’s doing and will get it in gear in proper time.
Also, with the Pope coming and dedicating a campaign of his own to speak up for the invaders as if they were Mary and Joseph, Trump is going to need an elegant response to that week of commentary and coverage, which perhaps can set back what Trump has advanced.
