Baloney. I have lived in HSV since 1966. We are treated like step children by the powers that be. Years ago, a road from here to Atlanta was planned but the state took that money for B’ham and areas south. It was a miracle that we got 565 built. We need more roads in this area. I was told by a friend that they had looked up Greater HSV and we have between 500,000-600,000 people. Traffic everywhere is bumper to bumper. One good thing, I guess, is there are billions of dollars worth of construction going on here but I do not know how people are going to get here. I kinda liked it better with the 75,000 population around 1966 when we moved here. Progress, you know.

What’s baloney about the fact that the northern part of the state was NOT effected by the Horizon oil spill? Yet the governor took that money and put it in the general fund for the whole state. Now THAT is baloney!

Over 25 yrs ago Hwy 98 (nickname bloody 98),was supposed to be 4 laned all the way to the Mississippi line in Mobile County. There is a bridge built by Mississippi over 25 yrs ago that goes over the Escatawpa River that has never seen traffic, still waiting on Alabama. Several years ago we were told no more state hwy projects would be started until it was complete. Now you say they’re working in Huntsville, and I know they have in Birmingham. Meanwhile, the road still hasn’t been 4 laned. O
