Now the Mexicans have a point. We really shouldn’t be talking about a wall. We should be talking about a buffer zone. Since we already have roughly a fourth of the Mexican population, why not take the land too? The northern states of Mexico will do nicely. Its not like the Mexican fovernment is managing those states well.

Just Baja. Compensation for the annoyance, disrespect, and cost. Beachfront property, fresh water from the sea. Maybe oil, too.
No, just the Baja, and that little bit either side of the Colorado estuary at the head of the gulf, and the little bit down to the first port town and river that would afford a defensible border.
Then all the Mexican folks in Baja get to move to Sonora and Durango, and Americans get to homestead the Baja.
Sound fair enough?
