I think Grassley (who I have always thought was a dope) is in fact very smart to issue interrogatories about David Kendall’s security clearance to possess those thumb drives.

Since I’m sure Kendall does not have the requisite clearances, the paperwork that Grassley has requested does not exist. If so, his handing the thumb drives over was in and of itself confession to a felony, and he may not want to go to prison. He’s not Cheryl Mills or Huma Abedin, after all.

If Kendall has NEVER been cleared and hence briefed on the proper handling of classified material he may actually have an out if he didn't know that there was classified material on the thumb drive.

That will NOT relieve him of having to fully and accurately answering questions from the FBI and others about who gave him the thumb drive and why.
