I dont think Sessions wants VP. Hed be a great attorney general. He probably would be best as majority leader with Cruz or Trump as president. It would certainly be a titanic shift in leadership in the center. Sessions is super tough despite his quiet manner.
I agree that Sessions would be a terrific majority leader, we all know that 'Tortoise' McConnell has got to go, along with Weeper of the House John Boner.
There have been a lot of pot shots taken at Trey Gowdy, however he's been limited to what he can accomplish due to the lack of real support from Boner and the rest of the House GOP-RAC ('Rat Appeasement Caucus). As Attorney General (as Trump has suggested), I say that Gowdy would leave no stone unturned until we see the criminals and traitors indicted, tried, convicted and in cases where the law provides for it, *EXECUTED*.
Starting with lil boy Barky, his House enabler Nutzi Pelosi who 'certified' that he was eligible with a switcheroo of papers (when he was NOT), and all the way down the food chain until the political maggots and parasites of BOTH wings of the Uniparty have been permanently excised from the body politic.

“Sessions is super tough despite his quiet manner.”
I read his book, and yes he is tough. He is also a very humble and decent man.
