Huh? You may defend yourself in your home and in fear for your life. However, you can't pursue an assailant outside and chase him while firing multiple shots.

I live in Texas. It is approx 40 yards from my house to the front gate. There won't be enough drop to bother my center mass aim point until you clear my property.
BTW It takes 911 a long time to get out this far and I won't be in a big hurry to call, you just might bleed out.

There's a Minnesota homeowner currently serving a prison sentence for murder, after shooting two burglars inside his home.
He was laying in wait for them after having been burglarized multiple times.
The state contended it was, for all intents, an execution; so much for the "protecting your home" defense.
