“Reconstruction Act of 1867-68”, Please enlighten me, what would this do?
The Reconstruction Act would appoint military governors to seditious states, backed by troops. The act would require states to scrap their seditious state constitutions and require state legislatures to write new constitutions that ensure freedoms, subject to approval by the federal government. Finally, all congressional delegates would be thrown out and not allowed to represent their states. There’s more but those are the highlights.
