One thing true today, the science has all but gone out of the political science of polling compared with, say, the seventies.
Polls can be manipulated easily to make it look like a majority is behind something it really isn’t. They become, or so the sponsors hope, self fulfilling prophecy.
Nonetheless, huge grotesquely lopsided leads are harder to fake or dismiss, especially when they are being seen all over the place.
