COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush on Monday night dismissed as impractical Donald Trump's proposals to erect a U.S.-Mexico border wall, use remittances to pay for its construction and to revoke birthright citizenship.
"How do you revoke remittances?" he asked shaking his head. "A plan needs to be grounded in reality."
"I like my plan," he added in a one-on-one interview with The Washington Post.
The former Florida governor has written and said more about comprehensive immigration reform than any other presidential candidate of either party. A 300-page book he published in 2013 outlines in minute detail how the country could establish a path to earned legal status for the millions of undocumented immigrants living in the country while also revamping other elements of the nation's immigration system. Bush initially supported a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants, but in recent years has shifted his focus to legalization.

Don’t need to revoke a remittance. A remittance is a wire transfer. Just add a tax to all remittances going to Mexico.
Hey Jeb - where there’s a will there’s a way.
The reason you can never do what Trump proposes is because you don’t want to.
He’s lost weight....is there something wrong with him?
Where on earth did you find this photo? LOL!
That’s the last sumbitch that we need to hear from concerning reality.
The gang on Fox’ “The Five” gave withering ridicule of Trump’s “Immigration Plan” with Dana Perino going absolutely ballistic over it.
I hope to see Jeb Bush and his smarmy surrogates crushed this election.
That’s been a major problem since the 60s.No assimilation.
Jeb can take his wetback wife and move to Mexico and shut up and never come back!
Wow!
He almost filled two walls of a room, but there’s an empty seat next to the old guy there.
This is the smug, dismissive attitude that’s causing voters to run away from the establishment candidates.
I’m concerned that he is still in double digits in most polls.
Jeb “Clampett” talking about being grounded in reality..
“a mental Dwarf”... not a real one he just plays one.. for effect..
Raising money in his campaign coffers (he knows he’ll never be elected)..
just wants a honey pot.. to spend after the election..
A parasite..
Do you think Bush might want to use it for his campaign logo?
I’ll take a strong will over a BS plan any day.
This photo was taken in June. At a pharmaceutical company. What does that have to do with immigration? Is this the only photo of Jeb they could find? The little signs on the wall are cracking me up.
Any illegal border crosser who has committed a felony must be sent back to their country of origin. The cost of the plane flight and the guards to accompany them will be the fine they must pay. We will find their banking service and have the cost wired to the U.S. Government. If they do have any financial resources, they stay in jail and do the time until someone comes up with the fine. If they are a repeat offender (that is, they were deported, crossed the border again and again committed a felony), they do the time as determined by our justice system.
Little Dana seems to go RINO-ballistic on a regular basis these days. Spent too long with her second dad Bush.
So when is Jebba the Hut gonna tell the Mexican government that THEIR immigration plan is not grounded in reality ?
We beat Great Britain twice, won two world wars, went to the Moon, cured polio and other major diseases, turned a wilderness into the greatest, most wealthy country on the planet but we can’t build a wall and round up some miscreants?
That is a surrender. And the consequences of that surrender would allow millions of undocumented immigrants law breaking criminal invaders to be let off the hook.
Is that really what we want in this country, citizenship being granted as the reward for breaking our immigration laws?
I think not, ¡Jeb!.
