No, but they are desperate, humiliated by the complete failure of their military, and their government is in disarray.
It is clear most ethnic Ukrainians want to look to the West and get out from under the paw of the Russian bear. Unfortunately they don't have the means to do it without completely changing the dynamic. Desperate people do irrational, dangerous and/or surprising things.
This thing with the Ukraine is only going to get worse. Whoever the next President is will need an actual plan to deal with it, or at least a set of options that go beyond "I don't care either way (if they join NATO)"
