GOP ELITES PLOT TO PURGE TRUMP
WND ^

Posted on 08/13/2015 4:36:10 PM PDT by xzins

In the Cleveland debate, Donald Trump refused to commit to support whomever the Republican Party nominates in 2016.

Trump would be wise to maintain his freedom of action.

For there is a plot afoot in the Washington Post Conservative Club to purge Trump from the Republican Party before the primaries begin.

“A political party has a right to … secure its borders,” asserts the Post’s George Will, “a duty to exclude interlopers.” Will wants The Donald “excommunicated” and locked out of all GOP debates until he kneels and takes a loyalty oath to the nominee.

“Marginalizing Trump” carries no risk of “alienating a substantial Republican cohort,” Will assures us, for these “Trumpites” are neither Republicans nor conservatives. Better off without such trash.

The Post’s Michael Gerson says “establishment Republicans” must “make clear that [Trump] has moved beyond the boundaries of serious and civil discourse.” He loathes the Trumpites as much as Will.

Trump’s followers are “xenophobic,” Gerson tells CNN. They have a “resentment of outsiders, of Mexico, of China, and immigrants. That’s more like a European right-wing party, a UKIP or a National Front in France. Republicans can’t incorporate that.”

But if the GOP has no room for Trump’s followers, it has no future. For there simply aren’t that many chamber-of-commerce and country-club Republicans.

Trump should tell the GOP, in the neocons’ favorite phrase, “All options are on the table.” And that includes the Samson Option.

Trump should tell the GOP that if it disrespects him and his followers, then he is prepared to do as did the biblical hero Samson, when, blinded and mocked by the Philistines, he pushed the pillars apart and brought the temple down upon the heads of them all.

Someone needs to tell them when you add a word to your party (establishment); you are no longer a Republican.

“Diamond Donald Trump can ignorte Geo. Will the most conservative thing about will is he likes baseball.”

Why are so many baseball-fanatic-media-types such jerks? Big city influence? Unions (and dislike for owners)? Snobbery? Curious.

Will might want to be careful, the country may be full of his idea of "trash". He may step into the wrong nightclub.

I guess this is a border the GOPe will secure.

Jackasses.

Hmmm since the grandfather Trump came from Germany at turn of century changed the family name and told people the family was from Sweden. Maybe there is a deeper reason why the Bushs and Trumps don’t care for each other
Trump is quiet about his family history — mother from Scotland
Grandfather penniless from Germany Goes to Yukon , opens restaurant and hotel earns some money and settles in NYC. The Trump family - from penniless to mega billionaire in three generations is the American Dream on Steroids

I agree with you. I’d really like to see Trump get the nomination and I’d like to see Cruz as a VP.

While I recall Trump calling Rove and Bush nasty names back in 2011, I’m not aware of any long standing feud.

Not the same with the Bushes V Kennedys. You know how there are “tripwires” that are your personal way of vetting things? I had yet another tripwire about how the Bushes can’t stand the Kennedys yesterday. It’s a little thing that I saw, but evidence is there, despite how Bush was friendly with Teddy while in office.

It’s the little things
The expression on Dr Ben’s face after he mentioned Alinsky
Trump was in the process of deflecting an Alinsky attack during the debate
Camera panned to Carson whose smile and twinkle in eye made me realize they were on same page
Goggles and found bond. Last night Dr C admitted their relationship and stated Trump was one of the kindest, most considerate , generous men he knows Not at all like his public persona.

“A political party has a right to … secure its borders,” asserts the Post’s George Will”

It’s funny to hear that coming from Will, a guy who has no interest in securing our nation’s borders. I guess it’s party before country for George Will. A party whose only principle is “loyalty to the party” is about as useless as George Will is.

Problem here is, the house can elect anyone they wish, they would not have to go with Cruz if he is the republican nominee. If the election is thrown into the house, and the house is controlled by republicans, then it is likely the establishment house will choose establishment candidate Jeb Bush.

Wait, let me get this straight: a party that doesn’t want to protect our own borders wants to “protect” the Party’s borders? And they think there is no place in their party for Trumpites? Well, joke’s on them. They shoved McCain and Romney on me and I dutifully pulled the lever for both (focusing on the VP nominees to make it more palatable), but I am so disgusted and fed up with the party that it will not happen again.

If the American people are not given the chance to choose our own candidate from all that are currently on the table, I will abstain from voting at all. And if they offer up a Jeb or any other darling of the GOPe, I will likewise stay home - unless Trump goes third party, at which time, so will I. He’s not perfect, (no candidate is), but he loves my country (a refreshing change from the POS we have now), he’s pro-military, pro-veteran, pro life, anti-illegals, understands economics, is a world class negotiator, speaks his mind, and will not back down or be intimidated by Washington elites or foreign dictators, and is able to transcend party lines. Therefor, I find him a very agreeable choice for POTUS, along with Ted Cruz - another choice that I am sure the GOPe is determined to keep us from having.

Honestly I think Trump is leading pretty much everywhere. GA for sure. He will take the whole South including Fla. Jebbie and Scotty are toast.

The cashier at the Publix on Scufflegrit tonight agreed that her top three choices were Trump, Dr. Carson and Cruz also. I told her I suspected that was true across the whole state.
