I think those kind of questions would be fine in a one on one interview, but not a 10 person debate. In an interview, the candidate can respond fairly, including debunking the premise. Unfortunately the media seems to think their role as debate moderators is to attack the candidates rather than clarify their positions on common issues.

BTW, where is the outrage over Chris Wallace? He was far worse, IMHO, than Kelly. He never even allowed Trump to finish a sentence without interrupting and claiming he wasn’t answering, then gave that smug smirk to show how dumb he thought Trump was.

Very good point IMHO. Gotcha questions are inappropriate in this format, there is no opportunity to debunk, and that seems intentional.

Indeed! Why is Wallace not called out? Trump does callout Wallace during the infamous CNN interview. Do you have any thoughts on why there is not outrage over Wallace too? Doesn’t make sense.

Chris - the red diapered fruit doesn't fall far from the tree - Wallace structured his questions non sequiturs with so many twists and turns, taking at least a minute to deliver, that it would be impossible to answer in the allotted minute response limit. "He dodged the question!" It would have taken the whole night to answer completely!

Let's not give a pass to Baier, who, by his actions, firmly established himself as a contender for the position of senior gopE lickspittle.
