That won't get the job done. When we wanted to destroy, really destroy a hard drive with classified material on it, we'd either use an amount of C4 equal to or greater than the weight of the hard drive, a thermite safe destruction device, or ducttape the chip or drive to railroad tracks and run a 150-ton locomotive over it. Then it got fed to Captain Crunch, and then the remaining bits were burned and melted.
