Fox News chairman and CEO Roger Ailes revealed details Monday evening about his phone call with Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
Donald Trump and I spoke today, he said in a statement provided to TheBlaze.
We discussed our concerns, and I again expressed my confidence in Megyn Kelly. She is a brilliant journalist and I support her 100 percent, he added. I assured him that we will continue to cover this campaign with fairness & balance. We had a blunt but cordial conversation and the air has been cleared.

Or it could be they figure every Conservative they lose they will replace with a viewer of THE VIEW
Roger Ailes: “... We had a blunt but cordial conversation...”
Trump was blunt and Ailes figured he’d better be cordial back...
Just emailed Bret Baier at Special Report and Megyn Kelly at the Kelly File to give them both a piece of my mind.
And FoxSnooze had been off at my home since Thursday night.
Glad for FreeRepublic.
Please don’t forget to drop some coin for the FreepaThon so FR can stay online.
I was thinking the same thing. “Complete confidence” suggests that confidence must have popped up as a topic of discussion which is never a good thing. I’m sure word has gotten down to her about the extent of negative feedback from viewers and that another such performance will not be good for her career.
Ever since Trump started to rise in the polls, the amount of BS artists here has increased noticeably.
Since the debate last Thursday, it seems to have gone through the roof.
“just another opportunistic and ambitious pseudo-journalist”
Most importantly, nice to look at as are most of the female reporters and stool-sitters.
Her lack of professionalism was quite shocking. It was amazing to see a TV personality self-destruct like that and precipitate an implosion of her own network. It was quite a spectacle.
Let me tell you how this worked, in my opinion. Ailes directed Chris Stirwalt ( the coach) , Beir and MyGYN kelly to “get Trump’. It backfired real bad as the polls came out Monday morning. It was a clear hatchet job for the GOP-E. Ailes approved every word. Muddock saw it and was shocked. He was not previously alerted . He talks to Trump as recently as a week before. Murdock exploded on the phone with Ailes and tells Ailes to “work it out NOW”! Ailes CALLS TRUMP!! Trump didn’t call Ailes. Ailes didn’t call Trump to support MyGYN! Are you kidding me? Ailes called to assure Donald from now on he would be treated fairly and appologized for the “bush whack”, In my opinion. This propaganda release is to save face. Trump will just move on. He is gaining every day anyway.
>>How does a tale become bushy?
When its the usual tale of the “electable Republican candidate” and this time it’s all about Bush.
Too little, too late.
FReepers knew FOX “News” was full of feces and bias;
and now the world knows, too.
Ailes and Chris Wallace and Kelly Megyn, or whatever
her name is, can watch their ratings, supporters,
and accounts crumble.
Must be concerned about the success of FoxNews.
Your scenario sounds plausible.
And Kelly’s agent is probably fielding offers from other networks.
Ina few moths, Ailes will be announcer her departure and will wish her well in her future endeavors.
Hope she takes Bret Baier and Chris Wallace with her.
Not much detail. Glenn Beck is scamming again.
Trump actually went crying to Ailes?? What a little wuss.
No. Ailes called Trump. Educate yourself.
The first and only question is if Ailes thinks his people did such a great job during their version of the View, why would he call Trump?
They got caught playing yellow journalism and it’s been nothing but damage control since then.
Both Brett Baier and Megyn Kelly talked about the feedback and fallout last night.
They know what and why they acted the way they did. Both Baier and Kelly bragged about their plan before hand.
They intentionally bushwacked Trump hoping he would lose control so they could warn and possibly escort him off the stage. THAT WAS
THIER PLAN.
Their soon since then has been pathetic
Thank you for mentioning Bret Baier. He was the one who got it started with the first question about a third party. I also have stopped watching Fox News - but I am getting tired of news in general so that wasn’t a big leap for me. What I hated was that they (the moderators) felt they needed to help us (the American people) make up our minds about who to vote for. Because they don’t like Trump then everyone should not like Trump. They think Trump is an idiot so we need to think Trump is an idiot. I hope they now understand they have become part of the problem.
