Isaiah prophecy of King Cyrus was about 150 years before he was even born.

This is what God had to say about him in Isaiah 44:28

That saith of Cyrus, he is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built, and to thy temple, Thy foundations shall be laid.

But used more than one King of Persha to free and help Israel.

This is a little off the subject I guess, but occurs to me how the prophetic books of the Old Testament almost all were either written after Israel/Judah’s captivity or about the captivity and beyond.

I mean, how many years was Israel a nation in Israel before the Babylonian captivity? Let’s see, Abraham to David was about 1000 years and David to Christ was about 1000 years.

So subtract 490 years after the Babylonian captivity and you get about 510 years from David to the Babylonian captivity.

I don’t know the time between Abraham and Israel in Egypt. But add that to their 430 years in Egypt and subtract from 1000 and you get the time Israel was in the land of Israel before David.

So the time Israel was in the land of Israel before David plus 510 years is about how long Israel was an independent nation. That’s a long time when I think of America.

Anyway, it is interesting that so much of the prophetic books were written at or near the end of Israel’s independence as a nation.
