You have grasped the essential truth.

The GOPe, is right now, funding Planned Parenthood and Obamacare. McConnell has said that there will be no vote to defund Planned Parenthood. There have been, and will be, show votes to trot out when election time comes, but no action, no use of the power of the purse, just theater.

What is there to lose by supporting Trump? If he loses, we get government funded abortion, no matter if it’s with gusto and a thumbs up from a DemocRat or with a bunch of GOPe rhetoric about how bad it is and how it’s got to change...after the next election.

Trump might do something different. He might screw it up. However, the Uniparty won’t touch it.

What Trump said is that he’s against government funding of abortions, and he’s willing to look at the good things PP does.

Frankly, if Trump was looking to pick up disaffected libtards who have been horrified by what has been revealed in those videos, his statements give them a face saving way to vote Trump.

Yeah, I’d be more comfortable with a more conservative outsider, like Cruz or Carson. The problem is, that with no Trump in the race, the GOPe guns would be turned on Cruz and Carson. Right now they are too busy having a conniption about Trump.

I want Trump stirring things up for as long as possible. Maybe there will be a miracle that leads to President Cruz, but not without a Trump to rock the boat. Both major parties are more concerned about perpetuating party power than what’s good for the country.

How has that worked out for us?

I also am a Cruz supporter, and I think you are right about Trump currently drawing GOP flak fire.

I think Trump is a force to be reckoned with though, and he is providing a useful service in focusing attention on illegal immigration and in exposing GOPE stealth candidates.

It is also indeed possible that trump will win the nomination.

I personally do not know if Trump is a conservative. My suspicion is that he is not.

However, is he any less a conservative than the GOP is? Nope.

I have no intention of supporting any of the GOP candidates except Cruz. I have respect for Carson, but I do not think he will be president. But the rest of ‘em? To hell with them.

What is really troubling to me though is in conversation with another poster in this thread, it is clear that people not only buy those phony show votes, they are satisfied with that and make excuses for them.
