Trump is a politcal neophyte, and thinks he is offering an answer that placates both conservatives AND avoid the criticism recently leveled at Bush.

There are probably good reasons to object to his solution, but I simply can't get all worked up over this response.

BTW Trump will get bored and eventually drop out. Then everyone with their panties in a bunch about his candidacy today will feel kinda silly. IMO.

No, he isn't. What you are describing is a Schwarzenegger. Trump's whole career is based on political cronyism. But his campaign strategy is based on reality TV hype tactics. But at heart he's a liberal, he just has a few crib notes to say for conservatives, but when someone pushes him deepers, he doesn't know what to say.

Yes, I agree, he will. But in the meantime, he is squeezing what little remains of Reaganism out of the party. He's converting conservatives to liberals. He's dealt a blow to Cruz, that will probably be fatal. It's time someone stood up to him.
