The questions posed to Trump were tabloid level questions. They did their best to embarrass and marginalize him by not asking any substantive questions on policy. They opened the debate with a question that targeted Trump.
No way was this objective, professional , fair or balanced.
I agree. If they really think Trump’s an unqualified boor, seems like they could have made their point by asking him some real questions, to which he would have had no answers. I think it’s interesting that they didn’t do that.
I’m not defending FOX’s performance at all, but I don’t think Kelly was on her own. The anchors said beforehand that they wanted to get the candidates off their talking points. The event was adversarial, and it didn’t yield much information. FOX is still congratulating themselves, but I wouldn’t call it a success.
