I take "a sub-sample" to mean a picked-through portion of the 796 who "self-identified" as leaning Republican. It could seriously be less than 100 people - nationwide

IOW..completely meaningless.

Self-correction. It appears the 796 is the sub-sample as described later in the poll. SO less than 1000 nation-wide.

How do you determine a Republican leaning Independent? I mean, how many times to they vote Republican to be considered this?
