The first GOP primary debate of the year, hosted by Fox News and moderated by three of their best, kicked off in headline-grabbing style when the moderator team backed candidate Donald Trump into a corner about the possibility of running on a third-party ticket.
But the attacks didnt stop there. Out of the six questions that Trump was asked, most of them were nothing more than thinly veiled attacks in what conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh suggested was a targeted effort by the GOP establishment to slam the brakes on Trumps momentum.
While Limbaugh had reported that there was a strong possibility that big-time Republican donors had ordered to take out Donald Trump, he and most others assumed the attackers would be Trumps fellow candidates.
But when the debate wrapped up, he explained that Fox News was the real hit man.

BTTT!
What do you expect from an organization that has Jerry Rivers living in their basement and a star who cant understand the whole Swift Boat disclosures?
They not only didn’t take Trump out, they goosed his ratings and made asses out of themselves. More and more Americans are discovering that the media is the real enemy and the political class are merely their tools.
Fox News is just as bad a orum as MSNBC for non gopes. Fox News is a gope organ.Getting Bush nominated is their goal and they use whatever occasions and tools are available to further that Goal Karl Rove is the Fox News theoretician of Fox News and the Republican Party for an ideology of Follow the Democrat Lead Whatever It Takes.
I'd say the same of Fiorina's interview with Matthews. Whatever his intentions were, she got the opportunity to get her message about Hillary out, and she did.
Rand Paul did, right out of the gate.
Paid assassin.
I agree with you. Trump playing the victim does not work for me. That's what Democrats do. Trump should man up and welcome the hard questions, not whine about them. He's going to get far worse than what he faced the other night. Is he going to whine about being bullied for the rest of the campaign?
What a misleading headline. Here’s what Rush said:
“What are your thoughts? Do you think the possibility exists that Fox News was ordered by establishment leaders to take Trump out of the spotlight? Sound off on Facebook and let us know.”
Oh. C’mon. Trump is one of the richest and most powerful and influential people in the world. He’s whining about being bullied by Megyn Kelly? A lot of people are being manipulated by Trump.
To add to your point, you don’t see Fiorina complaining about the questions she got from Matthews.

Whats remarkable is Fox spent the hours leading up the to debate speculating about who might attack Donald Trump.
Who would have thought it was FoxNews plan to hit Trump and protect the establishment.
Kicking myself - should have seen it coming.
Just wow.

I suspect that Hillary’s friends at Fox News are deliberately engineering a martyr so that Trump has a good excuse to play third-party spoiler.
It did not escape my notice that both FNC and the two people they gave the most speaking time to all have a history of supporting the Clintons.
Look, I’m not a big Trump fan myself but it was as plain as the ass on a goat that Megan was on a mission under the cloak of being a “moderator”. If you don’t find that objectionable than you can’t denigrate Candy Crowley for past performances or any of the future debates where the “moderators” try to push their preferences.
The Orders to Take Out Trump Must Have Gone to Fox, Not the Other Candidates
(excerpt)
The only thing they’ve got good in there is Camille Paglia, but I don’t even have to read Salon to find her column. “Fox News Could Not Kill Trump’s Momentum.” Well, there’s a clear implication there that they were trying to. And Politico. They’re the ones that had the story that Jeb had called Trump names that Jeb denied and Trump said, “God, I love you, man,” last night after the debate. This is by Roger Simon: “Donald Trump Terrifies Republican Field — They are afraid of him; they are really afraid of him. The other Republican candidates for president are afraid of Donald Trump.”
Trump’s return fire sure didn’t sound like “whining” to me.
Trump, for sure, needs to ‘man up’ as you said & get this Megyn Kelly thing behind him. She is basking in a good portion of his glow and she/FOX are going to ride the Trump pony into the ground for ratings fodder. I’m sure Trump can find a very gracious and Trump-like way to get over this hump, but he needs to be the bigger man and do it .... staying off of FOX perpetuates the feud and isn’t helpful to anyone but FOX/Megyn. Maybe he should do the unexpected & request a one-on-one interview with Kelly .... I’ve seen her in some of those situations and she doesn’t handle them as well as when she’s in a more advantageous position such as a debate “moderator” (or should that be ‘instigator’). She won’t be able to ring the time bell or go to a break which is to Trump’s advantage. Yup, it would generate ratings for Megyn/FOX for that interview, but if Trump handles it right, it will end the ‘feud’ meme that FOX would use to drip, drip, drip & be of more benefit to him overall & in the long run.
