This is just another manufactured insult by the MSM and the GOPe. They pretend to know what he REALLY meant and won't accept his explanation. So we now have the thought police.
They did the same thing with his comments about illegal aliens and Mexicans. The MSM and some Rep candidates have conflated that with all Mexicans and all immigrants. This is deliberate misrepresentation.
Trump put a face on the victims of criminal alien crime. Tens of thousands of Americans have been killed by criminal aliens and millions more have been victims of their crimes. This destroys the MSM and political elite stereotype of the "undocumented" living in the shadows and separated from their families. Publicly Released: Apr 21, 2011. that provides all the data. Who in Congress had the guts to bring out some of these victims to tell their story? Answer: None. Congress has the information and still allowed sanctuary cities.

The number of criminal aliens in federal prisons in fiscal year 2010 was about 55,000, and the number of SCAAP criminal alien incarcerations in state prison systems and local jails was about 296,000 in fiscal year 2009 (the most recent data available), and the majority were from Mexico.
Based on our random sample, GAO estimates that the criminal aliens had an average of 7 arrests, 65 percent were arrested at least once for an immigration offense, and about 50 percent were arrested at least once for a drug offense. Immigration, drugs, and traffic violations accounted for about 50 percent of arrest offenses. About 90 percent of the criminal aliens sentenced in federal court in fiscal year 2009 (the most recently available data) were convicted of immigration and drug-related offenses. About 40 percent of individuals convicted as a result of DOJ terrorism-related investigations were aliens.
The Dems and the GOPe have been blocking this information from the public for their own reasons. Every day Americans are being killed by criminal aliens along with other crimes. They are killing more Americans than ISIS or in the entire Iraq/Afghanistan war. Yet the political class is more concerned about conferring rights and privileges on illegal aliens than protecting American citizens against criminal aliens. And they wonder why Trump has traction.
