McConnell isn’t running for president, I will not defend him. Trumps statements on Healthcare give him away. If you put lipstick on a pig...
He’s a conservative in some respects today. But he wasn’t a conservative yesterday, he was a NYC crony capitalist liberal.
We need a consistent conservative, not a campaign conservative.
“Why would you say Trump or Cruz. Youve chosen a liberal and a conservative. I dont get it.”
I think folks want to believe Trump has had a “come to Jesus moment”. Where he has seen the ugly side of both parties and now is on a crusade to fix what’s wrong.
Trump is a big business man and as a big business man i suspect you use as few words to sell or buy whatever you are selling and buying.
You pay someone for a favor or you do a favor for a favor.
Alot of it is wining and dining with the end results you get what you want. If it requires contributing money to politicians that is what you do.
Trump said “he told Hillary to come to his wedding” He told her not ask, wow.
That is how it works in the “real world”
Trump is no Reagan. Although, i know Reagan made business like deals, some he didn’t like, in order to get what he wanted.
However, Reagan was genuinely a conservative and most, a least on our side, were comfortable and trusted him.
Trump has self admitted he is part of the problem in DC by admittedly buying politicians. All here can support him sing his sweet praises. Not I. The man is a crass, bloviating, narcicist. That is what we have right now.
How is that any different than Boehner and McConnell running on repealing Obamacare then to turn around and sit on their hands and say they can't?
Point is, they were elected on a promise and lied.
Do I trust Trump? No. Do I trust any of the other candidates? No.
He bought but the other candidates put themselves on the market to be bought. You pick. The buyer or seller?
Bush's pretended the Reagan's were the uncouth Hollywood actors, while they were the "true" established American aristocracy!
Geo. W. being descended from King George III, Reagan was descended from the unworthy Irish!
True but in this day and age, how are we going to get that. It seems blackmail and bribery are the norm. With the media willing to run hit pieces and political operatives willing to dig up the slightest dirt or simply make it up and use that against a hold out politician, how do you get a candidate that you can trust?
In ‘76 I drove 30 miles up the coast to a
ranch outside of Paso Robles. He was going
to give a speech followed by a tri-tip BBQ.
Seemed like we waited all day but
eventually he, Nancy, and the host couple came
riding up on horses. Everybody was completely
stoked. Four years later my parents were invited to
his innaugaration. If only I had known the special
time that it was then.
what a fantastic memory!!!!!!!
The Bushes have had far more nice things to say about the Clintons that they ever did about Reagan.
I’m glad conservatives are starting to wake up now, but where were all these anti-Bush people during the Dubya era?
That man was one of the worst presidents in history and did massive damage to the USA. He also turned off the younger generation to the GOP through his idiotic invasion of Iraq and embrace of the police/surveillance state. Bush lost Congress and caused the Obama presidency, again, mainly due to the war.
At the time, there was almost no criticism of Dubya from conservatives. The few who did criticize were attacked relentlessly and largely hounded out of the movement.
Years later, the same people who were hypnotized by the upper crust Connecticut Yankee’s phony persona as a good ol’ boy from Texas act like they have always been anti-Bush. If only.
The ‘76 GOP convention presentation by Reagan
got me to thinking. RR appealed to Democrats and
of course we know about the Reagan Democrats of
‘80 and ‘84. Why doesn’t someone like Cruz
appeal to disenfranchised Democrats? Are we
THAT polarized today?
Clearly the Democrat (I refuse to say Democratic) Party
has moved left and I can’t believe they are taking all
Democrats with them. There may be a gold mine out there
and an appeal might get someto start thinking.
In fact, I would like to see Cruz and other GOP candidates spend more time talking to and about people on a
personal level.
Just a thought.

Lucky you.
spot on...and I believe...
That is coming.
I think Cruz is very much on top of this.
I still think there are many hard working, gun-toting, traditional democrats who love America and will come out for Cruz against Hillary.
Really, that is our only chance.
And Cruz knows his stuff, so I think that is coming!!!!
thank you for watching that video, btw.
it’s classic...we need to spread the word!
Watch the great man at work, and learn!
Here’s another.....
My dad worked for the State Dept of Ed as a
special supervisor for the FFA (formerly
Future Farmers of America). He and the state
association president met with Gov Reagan in
his office in Sacramento. This was 1972 I
believe. They had their picture taken along
with RR, an Assemblyman, and a PR guy from
Southern Pacific(?). As they sat at the conference
table waiting for the photographer Reagan
glanced at a painting of a cowpoke hanging
on the wall. He said to his guests, “Sometimes
I like to think of myself as that cowboy,
riding off into the sunset”.
The world is lucky he didn’t decide to be
that cowboy.
President Reagan did ride off into the sunset. The sunset of Alzheimer's.
