I love the extent some apologists will go for Trump.
But as Trump himself explained at the debate, he got a wedding invitation from the Clintons as the result of his contributions.

Oh yeah, it was just that one nasty contribution from Trump that put them in office, lol. Then it was just all those contributions from most businessmen and women in NYC that contributed to both Pubs and Dems that put Reid and Pelosi in office, wasn’t it. It was all of their faults. All those nasty Pub businessmen who wanted their businesses to survive in NYC. Man, get in the real world.
And that was 2006. It’s now 2015, in case you didn’t notice, and Trump has much to lose and already has businesswise by coming out publicly and vociferously as he has, as a very conservative man in the here and now. You seem to think that everyone needs to live in a time warp and can never change their minds on any given subject. We are supposed to be locked in for life to whatever opinions we held earlier in life. Tell that to Ronald Reagan. Whatever we believed years ago, why, we have to stick with that for life, according to you. Sorry, that’s not how the world of people works.
As long as people evolve in the right direction toward conservatism, then all the more power to them and it behooves us to welcome them into the tent. Nice try though to sell your point of view. It’s just that it is so easy to poke holes in your arguments, lol.
