Cruz politely raising his hand and asking to be recognized will be noticed in some circles even though he was turned down. Nearly all of the rest (perhaps excepting Carson) did that, they just jumped in. As he said, judge them by his works. His reputation, if any, among the low info voters, is a bomb thrower. But his actions on the campaign trail display excellent manners notably atypical in a political crowd. That will win him a closer look from the “can’t you just get along” moderate crowd.
Frankly, our Ted may be too elegant and refined for the times. People are breaking a bloody sweat with rage and raising your hand is not exactly what we are looking for in approaches, you know what I mean?
