Actually, I think it was a big blunder for Trump.
I would have said something along the lines of, “I refuse to give the Republican establishment a blank check.I certainly hope to support the eventual nominee, but just like a hundred million voters out there, I will demand that they earn my support.”
Instead, what he said seemed to have a subtext: “Vote for me, or I just might throw the election to Hillary.”
This question tonight was dishonest and incomplete and no one mentioned a certain set of facts.
There were donors who tried to scheme and have Trump banned from the debates, and this week big donors were putting out the word that they wanted Trump "taken out" tonight. And I haven't heard Fox report on any of that, and I haven't heard the RNC condemn it.
Those facts alone make Trump 1,000% justified in not pledging his support for the Republican party regardless.>
